Remote Operations Control Center (ROCC) Manager - Renewable Energy Denver, CO
An independent renewable energy producer is seeking a ROCC Manager to oversee daily operations of its 24/7/365 Remote Operations Control & Communications Center. The ROCC Manager will supervise a team of operators responsible for monitoring wind, solar, and battery storage assets across North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and schedule ROCC Operators.
- Monitor and operate renewable energy facilities via SCADA systems.
- Ensure compliance with NERC, ISO, RTO, and other operational protocols.
- Respond to grid operator directives and adjust plant control setpoints as needed.
- Analyze performance data and recommend operational improvements.
- Maintain and update ROCC operational procedures and training programs.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including site personnel, asset managers, and grid operators.
- Support remote troubleshooting and substation switching operations.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of real-time generation data and reporting systems.
- Remain available for operational support, including after-hours calls and escalations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power system operations or power production.
- Proficiency with SCADA systems, Microsoft Office 365, and network/communications tools.
- Familiarity with NERC compliance requirements and power plant operating procedures.
- Experience working in a 24/7 operations environment preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods and work on a computer.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending or kneeling.
- Occasional travel (less than 5%) within the U.S. and Canada may be required.
