As an Application Engineer, you will engage early with prospective customers to gain a thorough understanding of their manufacturing processes, challenges, and goals. Your mission will be to identify solutions that enhance their operations, requiring an in-depth knowledge of both our Chef Robotics Systems and the customers' operational workflows.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with customer engineers and manufacturing leaders to create effective integration models of Chef Robotics' Systems into their manufacturing lines.
- Developing ROI analyses by quantifying manufacturing process improvements achievable through our robotics solutions.
- Crafting documents and sales presentations that clearly highlight the benefits of our systems to the customers.
Essential duties and responsibilities encompass:
- Leading the deployment of Chef Systems at customer sites, ensuring smooth Site Acceptance Tests.
- Collaborating with Engineering and Project Management teams to prioritize and address customer feature requests and requirements.
- Working with Sales and Business Development teams to assist in closing contracts by addressing feature requests, technical questions, and mitigating risks.
- Contributing to customer success post-deployment, ensuring an excellent experience that encourages repeat purchases.
- Preparing technical presentations to effectively communicate our products or services to clients.
- Consulting with customers and engineers regarding equipment needs and system requirements.
- Partnering with sales teams to gather customer requirements and provide necessary support.
- Researching, developing, and modifying products to suit customer specifications.
- Identifying and communicating operational improvements to upper management.
- Training sales team members on the technical features of our products and services.
You You are passionate about robotics, automation in manufacturing, and building strong customer relationships. With a proven track record of successful customer engagements from pre-sales to deployment, you excel in managing your time effectively. You are self-motivated, capable of identifying needs, scheduling, and meeting customer demands. In challenging situations, you maintain professionalism and drive organizational improvements to address customer concerns. A recent graduate with a BS or preferably an MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
Experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus, but a strong willingness to learn and understand the customer's business will suffice.
This role involves significant travel, up to 50%, across the US and Canada. As a representative of the company, exceptional communication skills are essential for fostering good relationships with both internal teams and external customers. You should possess the following skills and qualities:
- Recent graduates or individuals with a BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven interest in product engineering, applications engineering, solutions engineering, or sales engineering.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix and/or Robot Operating System (ROS).
- Capability to identify, document, and escalate product issues and improvements.
- Skill in coordinating schedules with customers and stakeholders effectively.
