Roadway Project Engineer - Alternative Delivery
Location: Marietta, GA Atlanta, GA Savannah, GA Carrollton, GA Cumming, GA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Full-time Hybrid
Type of Contract: Direct Hire
About the Role
Are you passionate about building transformative infrastructure that drives communities forward? We are partnering with a well-established civil engineering firm to identify a Roadway Project Engineer with expertise in Alternative Delivery to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team. In this pivotal role, you'll help lead transportation infrastructure projects across Georgia-supporting both local and expressway systems-while leveraging the latest modeling tools and innovative design approaches.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to execute transportation projects delivered through Design-Build and other Alternative Delivery methods.
Develop roadway and Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP) for a range of facilities including Expressways and Arterial/Local roads, adhering to applicable DOT and jurisdictional standards.
Utilize OpenRoads Designer to create 3D corridor models and digital terrain files.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (drainage, structures, traffic) to ensure integrated project execution from concept through construction.
Lead and mentor junior engineers and designers; review technical deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.
Prepare technical documents, engineering reports, and detailed construction drawings.
Present designs and project status updates in internal meetings and to external stakeholders.
Participate in professional development and team-building activities while contributing to a collaborative and respectful work environment.
Ensure all tasks are completed on time and within scope by applying strong project management practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Georgia or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
Minimum 6 years of roadway engineering experience, including at least some exposure to Alternative Delivery or Design-Build projects
Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and other applicable CAD/Modeling tools
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions internally and externally
A collaborative mindset and a commitment to excellence and innovation
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with GDOT or similar DOT roadway projects
Familiarity with Digital Delivery processes and BIM for infrastructure
Demonstrated success mentoring and developing junior staff
