SUMMARY

The Assistant Store Manager for the Roadrunner Express supports the Store Manager in leading the store's day to day operations, including scheduling, training, and directing the responsibilities of the Team Members. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in ensuring the store's profitability and controlling expenses. The Assistant Store Manager will assist with the oversight of labor, inventory levels, audits, and cash management. The Assistant Store Manager will be a champion in developing and continuing to create a work environment that is fun and fair for all Team Members. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager will lead the store's operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following:
  • Supports and participates in the recruitment, hiring, training, development, and overall supervision of Team Members.
  • Assist in supervising all store Team Members according to the policies and procedures.
  • Supports and may provide coaching, constructive feedback and performance evaluations for store Team Members.
  • Manage store inventory, including ordering, receiving, and auditing.
  • Ensure store merchandise is stocked and displayed in a safe and attractive manner.
  • Supports the established sales goals. Will assist the Store Manager in effectively communicate sales goals to Roadrunner Express supervisory and front-line staff making sure all Team Members are kept in the loop.
  • Responsible for handling cash management for the store according to policy.
  • Follows, implements, trains, and enforces all operating procedures.
  • Places strong emphasis on customer service. Trains and mentors, all staff on the benefits of customer service.
  • Serves as the go-to person for customer service disputes in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Completes all necessary documentation and paperwork including data entry as detailed by policy and procedures.
  • Conducts Team Member meetings to ensure all policy and procedure changes are communicated in a timely manner. Additionally, works with the Store Manager to conduct meetings to ensure Team Members are happy with their work environment.
  • Demonstrate a "can do" attitude and works side by side with Team Members.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • One of more years of retail experience
  • One plus years in a management position
  • Strong knowledge and experience of retail store operations
  • Two plus years of experience in customer service
SKILLS
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced retail, food service or fuel environment, including cash handling and customer service experience
  • Demonstrates the ability to support established sales goals
  • General computer skills with previous experience in back-office software
  • Ability to learn new software programs quickly
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and sets a good example for the Team Members
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills including both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates the ability to solve problems using company policies as the guidelines along with a calm demeanor
  • Demonstrates ability to work with and manage the store team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to train staff either directly or through others
