RN Unit Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Supervisor or RN Unit Manager to join our healthcare team. The Nurse Supervisor will oversee the nursing staff, ensuring quality patient care and adherence to healthcare protocols. This position is ideal for an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) or an ambitious RN Unit Manager ready to take on a leadership role.

Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities as an experienced Nurse Supervisor or RN Unit Manager
Monitor and assess patient care delivery under the guidance of a Director of Nursing (DON)
Implement and maintain healthcare standards aligned with RN Unit Manager protocols
Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, acting as a trusted Nurse Supervisor
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and the DON to optimize patient outcomes
Step in as acting Director of Nursing (DON) in the absence of leadership
Oversee shift changes and daily reporting as a responsible RN Unit Manager
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory standards, a key duty of any Nurse Supervisor
Work closely with the DON on staff development and training programs
Act as the liaison between nursing staff and administration in the role of Nurse Supervisor
Take charge of incident response and reporting as part of RN Unit Manager responsibilities
Develop care plans in collaboration with physicians, overseen by the Director of Nursing (DON)
Perform audits and quality checks, consistent with Nurse Supervisor standards
Coordinate with HR and upper management as an active RN Unit Manager
Fill in for the DON as needed, maintaining continuity of care
Provide mentorship to junior nurses under the Nurse Supervisor framework
Contribute to policy updates and implementation with input from the Director of Nursing (DON)
Lead team meetings and briefings, a daily task for the RN Unit Manager
Maintain accurate patient records using Cerner or Epic, per Nurse Supervisor procedures
Ensure infection control protocols are followed per DON guidelines
Support recruitment and hiring decisions as an acting RN Unit Manager
Review clinical documentation in collaboration with the Director of Nursing (DON)
Address patient and family concerns professionally as a responsible Nurse Supervisor
Promote a culture of excellence in nursing care, in line with RN Unit Manager values
Serve as a bridge between clinical operations and executive leadership as the DON or Nurse Supervisor

Skills
Proficiency in senior care and memory care, common to any skilled Nurse Supervisor
Knowledge of aseptic technique and IV infusion, expected of an RN Unit Manager
Experience in acute care settings, preferred for a Director of Nursing (DON)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
