Overview:
Presbyterian provides a year-long Medical, Surgical, and Progressive Care Nurse Residency Program for newly graduated nurses who are interested in starting their professional career in these areas. The program has shown to improve engagement and retention by providing a strong nursing foundation for quality nursing practice. Residents will obtain continuing education credits upon completion of the program.
Newly licensed nurses, graduating from an accredited college, within 12 months are welcome to apply. Qualified candidates must have a current New Mexico RN license and an associate's degree in nursing or higher (BSN preferred). Residents will be hired as full-time nursing staff "in training" with full benefits. Hours will be variable and at various sites. Two year postcourse completion work commitment agreement required.
Residents who successfully complete the program's objectives will be interviewed for permanent full-time staff nurse positions at Presbyterian Hospital, Rust Medical Center, or other participating Presbyterian locations
