Overview

Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities ( Essential Functions) - Administers medications within the scope of practice and hospital policies.
- Assesses, evaluates, interprets, and documents patients' physical and mental status.
- Establishes rapport with patients and significant others to understand care requirements and resolves patient problems through multidisciplinary teams.
- Promotes patient independence by setting care goals, teaching self-care skills, and answering questions.
- Ensures quality care by adhering to standards, measuring outcomes, and making necessary adjustments.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment by complying with procedures and protecting patients and staff.
- Protects patient confidentiality and maintains continuity through proper documentation and communication.
- Maintains professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Completes annual competency and regulatory education.
- Contributes to team efforts, measured by patient satisfaction and care quality metrics.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of medical equipment.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to administer medications per policy.
- Ability to follow safety goals and interpret diagnostic results.
- Effective communication using SBAR.
- Multi-tasking ability.
- Courteous, compassionate attitude and support for the organization.
- Clinical skills including infection control, nursing skills, and physiological knowledge.
- ED/ICU: ACLS required; Med/Surg: BLS required.
Education
- Bachelor's Nursing preferred; College Diploma Nursing required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse; Certified CPR.
