Summary: The Registered Nurse Lactation Counselor provides expert lactation support and education to breastfeeding mothers and infants, utilizing the nursing process for individualized care. Responsibilities include:
Educating families on breastfeeding techniques and benefits. Developing personalized care plans and providing emotional support. Collaborating with healthcare providers for seamless care coordination. Offering outpatient lactation support and addressing common challenges. Training hospital staff on lactation best practices. Contributing to program development and quality improvement initiatives. Job Requirements: ADN required; BSN preferred. Experience in hospital and outpatient care is preferred. Must have RN license, IBCLC certification, and BLS. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
