Position Title: RN Nursing Manager - Medical Telemetry

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic RN Nursing Manager to lead a high-acuity Medical Telemetry unit in Kansas City, MO. This role is ideal for a nurse leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about patient-centered care, staff development, and clinical excellence.

The Medical Telemetry unit is a progressive care unit (PCU) that combines telemetry with stepdown-level acuity. The unit includes 25 beds and is supported by charge nurses, monitor techs, RNs, LPNs, and PCTs. This is a strong leadership opportunity with direct reporting to the Director of Acute Care and close collaboration with peer managers.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and staffing of a 25-bed high-acuity telemetry/PCU unit
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing and support staff
  • Implement quality and patient experience improvement initiatives
  • Support compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies
  • Manage unit budgets, staffing levels, and resource utilization
  • Foster a positive team environment with a focus on collaboration and accountability
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and hospital leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care leadership experience (e.g., CNC, Charge Nurse, House Supervisor)
  • Minimum 5 years of total RN experience
  • BSN required; MSN preferred
  • Current RN license in Missouri or compact state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - required at hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - required within 30 days of start

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $91,624 - $128,294 (dependent on RN leadership experience; not staff-level RN experience)
  • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance considered on a case-by-case basis
