Med A is seekingan energetic medical-surgical nurse to join our dynamic team hereat Piedmont Athens. We pride ourselves in providing high quality,evidenced based care on a fast paced 30 bed Med-Surg unit. Our MedA staff coordinate health care plans with the entire medical teamto provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients sufferingfrom a variety of illnesses and comorbidities including overflowfrom our specialty care units such as Surgery, Pulmonary,Neuroscience, Oncology, and Orthopedics. Support staff include IVteam, home med nurse and liftteam.

RESPONSIBLEFOR:
The staff nurse provides nursing care topatients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursingprocesses to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care forpatients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies andprocedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growthand accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintainingstandards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of allassigned staff in the provision of quality nursingcare.

Patient ratios are determined byvarious factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs.Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higherratios

Qualifications:
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursingprogram

MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
New Graduates of a nursing programeligible

MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
CurrentLicense in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLCMultistate License.
BLS certificationrequired.

ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:
For PRN positions: One year ofnursing experience in a hospital setting preferred
Bachelors degree preferred
Advancedcertification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
