SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Nurse Manager coordinates and oversees nursing care and related activities of the surgical center. Essential Functions (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions) Recruitment, retention, evaluation and supervision of nursing personnel Ensure that each patient and family receives excellent clinical care and has a positive experience when visiting our facility Act as a surrogate for the DON/Administrator in solving a wide range of problems that arise from dentists, anesthesiologists, clinical staff, and administrative staff Prepare schedules and ensure completion of delegated tasks Provide reports to ensure facility reaches daily, weekly, and monthly goals Maintain effective communication between all team members at the facility, including DON/administrator, clinical and non-clinical staff Ensure proper surgery center flow, including patient intake and discharge Report unexpected deviations in surgery flow, patient schedules, and patient experiences, including any reports of grievances to the DON/Administrator Supervise the nursing staff and assignments, and provide support as needed Direct the admission of patients during the perioperative process Stay up to date on clinical staff certifications including PALS, ACLS, and BLS Assist with ordering necessary supplies Ensure that medical gas is ordered and stocked appropriately Sign off on competency evaluations Follow the surgery center's professional conduct and dress code policy Attend all mandatory in-services and meetings. Direct reports include nurses, medical assistants, and registered dental assistants Work Environment. This job operates in a medical facility where there is patient care equipment. Hazardous materials are also present. Exposure to patients' conditions and some unpleasant sights, smells and contagious diseases is possible. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching as well as lifting and supporting patients. YOU HAVE Requirements + Qualifications. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current state license to practice as a registered nurse. Knowledge regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care Current American Heart Association issued Basic Life Support (BLS). Current American Heart Association issued Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred Education and Experience. Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing. ICU or perioperative nursing experience. Previous leadership experience BENEFITS.
