Job Description:
The Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Nurse leads and promotes Clinical Quality Improvement and Patient Safety efforts throughout the organization. This position supports and promotes safe and high-quality patient care through systematic, coordinated and continuous approach to improvement.
The Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Nurse works collaboratively with physicians, organization leaders, and staff, to identify and enhance patient safety practices.
Qualifications:
Relevant work experience in clinical healthcare and quality. Registered Nurse (VT RN license), Current certification in Patient Safety preferred; (required within 2 years of employment) Understanding of CAH and other regulatory standards in healthcare preferred, but willing to train the right applicant.
Education:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required.
Candidate must be able to work independently and think creatively when it comes to working through complex workflows and improvement efforts.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong interpersonal, and interdepartmental relational skills
Ability to successfully manage unpredictable and rapidly changing work environments
Ability to provide mentorship and guidance in improving organizational performance, and promoting patient safety initiatives
Experience with performance improvement methods and tools, group facilitation, and project management
Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills, with strong software use capabilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
This position also includes some flexibility with both remote and (in person) responsibilities.
