The J51 Echo Lab specializes in Transesophageal Echo (TEE) exams to take closer images of the heart, providing clearer views of certain areas. As an RN on this team, you will work closely with physicians and fellow caregivers to offer exceptional medical support and attention to all patients within the unit. You will gain hands-on experience with cutting edge technology and intricate, complex conditions, offering a wealth of applicable nursing knowledge.


A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM - 5:30PM.


A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within six months of hire
  • One year of recent experience as an RN

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Two years of recent experience as an RN
  • Cardiology experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination

  • Standing and walking for extensive periods of time

  • Corrected hearing and vision to normal range

  • Some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids

  • Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work


Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures
