Position Summary
Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a qualified nurse to administer patient care in an inpatient or observation setting, providing active treatment for injuries, illnesses, or post-intervention assessments.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Assess patient needs and develop or revise individualized care plans based on patient responses, evaluating progress toward expected outcomes.
- Respect diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and patients.
- Act as a patient and family advocate.
- Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating necessary knowledge and skills for the patient population served.
- Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, educator, or nurse clinician as needed.
- Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to plan and manage patient care effectively.
- Model professional behavior and support hospital and nursing department goals.
- Apply principles of growth and development to assess and interpret patient data relevant to age-specific needs.
- Coordinate care and delegate tasks appropriately to team members.
- Document patient care accurately, including assessments, education, medications, treatments, and safety measures, meeting all standards.
- Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and equipment use specific to the unit.
- Prioritize patient care based on evidence-based standards.
- Identify and resolve problems effectively.
- Delegate tasks considering patient needs and team member capabilities.
- Communicate patient condition and unit concerns clearly to team members.
- Provide compassionate, therapeutic care practices for patients and families.
- Be aware of legal issues and patients' rights.
- Support the onboarding and transition of new staff and students with education department and leadership collaboration.
- Maintain punctual attendance in line with hospital policies and legal standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Contribute to ongoing professional development, quality improvement, and organizational outcomes.
- Participate in or lead committees related to nursing practice and performance improvement.
- Engage in peer review, mentoring, and coaching activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, practicing resource efficiency.
- Attend staff development, departmental, and committee meetings.
- Partner with leadership to identify training needs and pursue ongoing education.
- Take responsibility for personal professional growth and continuing education.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Training: Graduate of an approved nursing school, meeting all competency requirements for Baptist Health, Orlando Health, and the specific unit.
Licensure/Certification: Current Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate license, current BLS certification, and additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC as required for specific units, e.g., NICU for NRP.
