Description:
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to: Director Emergency Services and Med Surg
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. DragEditDelete Documents patient care given. DragEditDelete Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. DragEditDelete Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. DragEditDelete Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. DragEditDelete Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. DragEditDelete Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. DragEditDelete Observes central monitor screens, interprets, recognizes and records changes in patient's rhythms and notifies nurse as appropriate. DragEditDelete Handle with Care participation annually or CPI participation every 2 years. Qualifications:

Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. DragEditDelete
Required Skills American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment if not current upon hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of employment.
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required within 6 months of employment
TNCC and ENPC certifications preferred

Minimum Work Experience Six months to one year experience as RN in an emergency setting preferred
