PRN Position Requirements

PRN nurses at Mercy play a vital role in supporting our care teams and patients. As a PRN RN, you'll enjoy flexible scheduling while still being an integral part of our mission. Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 36 hours per six-week scheduling period
  • At least one 12-hour weekend shift per schedule (Friday 3 p.m. - Monday 7 a.m.)
  • One summer and one winter holiday shift (12 hours each) annually
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
  • Licensure: Active RN license in the state of Missouri; must meet all state board of nursing requirements
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
    • Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
    • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed
