Risk and Compliance Specialist Wealth Management
Salary Range: $50,200 - $62,700 annually (paid hourly)
At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Position Summary
The Risk and Compliance Specialist WM is responsible for providing service and support to the WM Risk and Compliance program to minimize business risk and optimize efficiency of the WM business unit. This program will include coordinating on-site audits & exams, quality control reviews, and policy compliance audits.
Primary Accountabilities
- Perform file reviews and ad hoc audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure that accounts are being managed in accordance with administrative and investment policies and are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Draft written reports regarding quality assurance and compliance monitoring results.
- Track policy and compliance exceptions to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain a high level of awareness and knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.
- Gather request list items for audits and exams.
- Participate in the WM Compliance Committee meetings.
- The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
- May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Associates Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance. Bachelors degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in trust or wealth management.
