Job Title: RHAPSODY Developer (100% Remote) - State of South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH)

Location: 100% Remote (Must work EST hours)
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM EST (Flexible start between 7 & 9 AM; finish between 4 & 6 PM). Occasional after-hours/weekend support may be required.

About the Role:

The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a highly skilled RHAPSODY Developer to support critical systems used in public health, disease surveillance, and lab reporting. This role involves building, maintaining, and optimizing Rhapsody-based integrations to enhance public health data systems.

This is a 100% remote position -you can work from anywhere as long as you are available during EST hours.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and troubleshoot Rhapsody-based integrations for Electronic Case Reporting (eCR), Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR), and CDC data modernization initiatives.
  • Build and optimize data routes, interfaces, and monitoring systems for improved data processing and reporting accuracy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, IT professionals, and vendors to ensure efficient and compliant integrations.
  • Perform gap analysis, requirements gathering, code reviews, testing, validation, and deployment.
  • Ensure maximum system uptime and business continuity for critical components.
  • Modernize legacy systems by converting them into Rhapsody routes and logic.
  • Provide technical advice, mentorship, and best practices enforcement.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation and architecture diagrams.

  • MS T-SQL (Stored Procedures, Advanced Queries, Optimization)
  • Web Services (REST, SOAP, WSDL)
  • JavaScript (ECMA/E4X)
  • Critical Thinking & Problem Resolution
  • Security & Data Classification (CDC, HIPAA, CJIS, PHI, PII)
  • Effective Communication & Collaboration
Preferred Skills:
  • Data Integration, Staging, Quality & Distribution
  • Public Health / Disease Surveillance Systems / LIMS Experience
  • LOINC / SNOMED
  • DevOps / JIRA
  • Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills
Required Certifications:
  • Rhapsody Certification (Indicate certification level on resume).
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field OR equivalent work experience.
