On-site Position Job Title: Radio-Frequency Engineer
Location: Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Fort Story, Virginia Beach
Type: Full-time Salaried Exempt
Salary: Commensurate with experience, training, and education Our Virginia Beach location is the lead test facility responsible for the engineering, design, integration, and installation of test systems. Several positions are available for experienced and senior electrical/RF engineers as recent program and project growth in established naval test and evaluation programs has warranted expansion of engineering resources. Our Virginia Beach location provides electromagnetic testing including antenna radiation patterns, communication systems, Data links, Electronic Warfare, Radio Direction Finding systems and radars. The program supports the Fleet forces at U.S. homeports and a mobile test platform to support shipyard installations and Coast Guard units. These positions offer a great opportunity for advancement and experience working as part of a dedicated design and integration team developing RF test systems. Required:
• U.S. Citizen eligible for government security clearance.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an AVBET-accredited (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) college or university
• Five (5) or more years' experience in electronics, RF engineering, communication systems, digital signal processing.
• Exposure to design, repair, and analysis of electronic systems.
• Exposure to electrical engineering design principles and methodologies.
• C and Java software development.
• Able to travel periodically to other test facilities across the U.S. and overseas.
• U.S. Passport. Responsibilities:
• RF/Microwave/Communication system design/development.
• Conduct test, evaluation, and data analysis of Communication, Electronic Warfare, Radar, and other electronic systems.
• Aid in the development, integration, and test and evaluation of objectives and goals of system development and sustainment plans.
• Organize and conduct field surveys for test instrumentation and equipment installations and technical surveillance, audits, and assessments.
• Assist in resolving issues unique to the project or program.
• Create test procedures and development documents including user manuals.
• Participate in team projects and related activities relative to new product development.
• Support the organization in improving efficiency by making necessary recommendations. Physical & Mental Requirements: Performance of essential and ancillary functions may require:
• Bending, stooping, and sitting.
• Walking or standing for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Requires near vision acuity to review written documentation.
• Ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone.
• Manual dexterity to operate a telephone and keyboard.
