RF Engineer III

Work Setup Hybrid Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer III with 5-10 years of expertise to contribute to the RF Design of our regional wireless macro and small cell network. This role demands strong technical acumen in RF design and a proactive approach to solving complex challenges in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop site designs, RFDS, and complete plumbing diagrams.
- Conduct radio engineering evaluations for system planning and site acquisition.
- Evaluate and address coverage challenges and capacity cell requirements.
- Utilize advanced propagation tools such as ATOLL, MapInfo, Google Earth, and other RF equipment for coverage and zoning analysis.
- Prepare FAA/FCC filings and regulatory coverage boundary determinations.
- Design and review cell site upgrades/modifications for optimal performance.
- Create and assess search areas considering performance, capacity, and topography.
- Collaborate with performance teams to enhance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare zoning justification packages and regulatory filings.
- Work with real estate teams to streamline site acquisition and leasing processes.
- Conduct RFE analyses, ensure compliance with mitigation standards, and generate necessary reports.
- Determine required equipment, antennas, and cabling for wireless network clusters.
- Automate processes where possible and share knowledge with the team.
Required Tools Experience:
- Advanced Expertise: ATOLL, Microsoft Office Suite
- Preferred Expertise: Fuze, Roofmaster, SQL, Visio, Ericsson performance tools, Visual Basic
Demonstrated Knowledge:
- Expertise in 4G network design, antenna systems, and LTE KPIs.
- Strong grasp of antenna performance, free space path loss, and signal propagation impacts.
- Topographical map analysis and digital terrain databases.
- Experience with antenna system designs, including MIMO systems and installation best practices.
- Macro site and small cell design in varied environments (urban, suburban, rural).
