Job Description

We are looking for an experienced or senior mmWave EM/RF designer who works closely with mmWave-IC/RFIC team and module team to deliver the highly integrated 5G front-end products. The designer will play an instrumental role in design/simulating/inventing key circuits blocks within the 5G front-end module. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of electromagnetic and RF and be a driven, committed team player.

The designer will be responsible for EM design of active and passive RF front-end circuits for mm-wave bands within the context of wireless communications systems. The candidate will be expected to innovate and work in a fast pace market to help to define and realize products for next generation wireless communication systems.

As part of our EM/RF design team, the designer will be responsible for designing and simulating all passive aspects of front-end module designs including output matching networks, integrated passive devices, high-directivity daisy-chain couplers, harmonic filters, and high isolation layouts using advanced EM design and simulation techniques.

Job Requirements

  • BS degree and 5+ years' experience is required. MS or PhD preferred in the area of EM/RF.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work effectively with other members of the product development team.
  • Deep understanding of RF and microwave theories and concepts, such as S-parameters, transmission lines, couplers, dividers etc.
  • Experience in design and modeling of mm-wave packaging, parasitics, transitions, etc.
  • Experience in design, analysis and implementation of on-die passives for mm-wave high efficiency, wideband power amplifiers and low-noise amplifiers.
  • Experience in design, analysis and implementation of RF / mm-wave switches.
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor technologies for RF / mm-wave applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of RF and wireless front-end components, systems and various transceiver architectures.
  • Proficient using RF / mm-wave design tools such as HFSS, Keysight ADS, EMX, ADS Momentum, etc
  • Experiences in mm-wave characteristic instruments. Probe station experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following beam-forming antenna array:

  • Adapting to best MCM design and Co-simulation methodologies
  • Designing semi-lumped RF matching networks on chip or on module
  • Designing Integrated Passive Devices (IPD)
  • Designing high-isolation laminate layouts to support high-rejection acoustic filters
  • Participating and conducting design reviews
  • Performing lab testing using RF test equipment
