The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for the general ledger accounting related to Revenue, Deferred Revenue and Cost accounts with reporting detail by various metrics including Region, Company, Customer, Sales Order, Contract, Item, etc.




Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of Revenue Detail for Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts (deferred revenue/unbilled), including research and correction.
  • Provide timely and accurate accounting information to internal customers on an ad-hoc basis
  • Interface with external auditors to manage year end requests
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding assigned accounts
  • Participate on ad hoc projects
  • Review and analyze contracts/agreements and apply ASC 606 (Revenue recognition related to SaaS, Term and Perpetual License/Software, Hardware, Services, POB Bundling, etc.)



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3 years of accounting experience with fully-integrated ERP systems (Oracle preferred); systems implementations and acquisitions experience preferred
  • Perform review of and accounting for revenue contracts under ASC 606 as part of the month end close process and monthly contract abstract analysis (Revenue recognition related to SaaS, Term and Perpetual License/Software, Hardware, Services, POB Bundle, etc.)
  • Assist in monthly analysis of Actuals versus Forecast during the close process
  • Perform monthly Deferred Revenue & Contract Asset reconciliations between subledger and GL
  • Maintain monthly detail of Deferred Revenue & Contract Asset balances with a focus on ensuring the integrity and completeness of the data in the reports (Excel skills is very important skill for this)
  • Perform monthly billing reconciliation between Fusion and RevPro systems and work with IT as needed to get missing invoices to RevPro
  • Compile detailed audit workbooks and related support for the year-end consolidated audit and several statutory audits
  • Research and respond to revenue variance related inquiries from FP&A and Operations as needed
  • Demonstrated change agility; ability to seize ownership and drive tasks to completion timely
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting and financial systems/processes, controls, and ability to translate strategies into financial concepts
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the close process; reconciliations; account research specific to Revenue, Deferred Revenue and Deferred Cost accounts.
  • Revenue determination based on documented persuasive evidence and fact pattern.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP financial reporting requirements ASC 606 & ASC 842 (leasing).
  • Proficiency with Multi-Element Accounting (bundled deals) including Hardware, Software, Services, Essential elements, Ratable Revenue, with specific Terms and Conditions
  • Competency in presenting detailed Audit rollforwards for revenues and deferred balances
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, self-directed, and meet deadlines
  • Able to research and problem solve independently
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office suite and advanced skill with Excel. Index, match, power querry is a plus.
  • The role requires a thorough understanding of transactions supporting Deferred Revenue balances, review and adjustment necessary to reflect results accurately.
  • Audit support is required for four (4) Corporate Audits: US, UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Qualified candidates will have experience preparing detailed samples and providing thorough explanation for Revenue and Cost samples according to ASC 606 Guidance.
