Duties:
- Under the general supervision of the Student Development Coordinator of Kipuka Native Hawaiian Student Center, provides direct academic, career and financial aid advising for Native Hawaiian returning and transfer students in consultation with relevant units in the UH Hilo Division of Student Affairs.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Kukulu Transfer Student cohort program.
- Outreach to and collaborate with academic and support programs at UH Hilo and UH System Community Colleges in support of transfer students.
- Conduct, coordinate, and evaluate student success and development workshops and activities.
- Oversee and maintain data collection for student participants.
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate peer mentors to assist implementation of programs and activities.
- Work in multiple work settings and maintain a variable work schedule as required.
- Other duties as assigned (Project based support)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in any field from an accredited university or equivalent education/training or experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of UH Hilo programs and services.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of Hawaiian educational programs, activities, and resources.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated.
