Shift Supervisor working a
9:30 PM - 6:00 AM shift at our
Santa Maria, CA location.
Key Responsibilities: - Act in accordance with the company's code of ethics and mission statement.
- Prioritize safety and promote safe practices among others. Ensure that customers and retail employees are not exposed to hazardous conditions by proactively identifying and minimizing risks of accidents or injuries.
- Able to effectively run and trouble shoot all equipment located at retail stores.
- Take ownership of maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked C-store. This includes ensuring restrooms, walk-ins, shelves (front-facing), floors, and the walls are clean and orderly; all lighting is functional; and coffee and prepared food items are properly stocked to meet "Customer First" standards.
- Delegates and clearly communicates with fellow team members through positive leadership and team building.
- Demonstrate positive leadership by delegating tasks effectively and communicating clearly with team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Promptly and accurately complete and submit reports on all incidents and alert events to management, ensuring timely and clear documentation.
- Support management in ensuring strict adherence to all accounting policies, including the accurate completion of end-of-shift duties and cashier reports.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet customer demand for the C-Store.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, recognizing it as an essential function of the job.
- Ensure all team members arrive on time, clock in and out properly, and that staffing levels are maintained. Manage schedule changes as needed and communicate adjustments to management promptly.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, including restrictions on cell phone use, eating behind the counter, and other conduct expectations while on duty.
- Actively support strong performance in both "Customer First" and Image Evaluations by upholding standards in uniform compliance, customer interaction, professional demeanor, and accurate cash handling (e.g., counting back change).
QualificationsRequired Skills/Experience: - Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Effective time management and problem-solving.
- Attention to detail and accountability.
- Basic math and cash-handling proficiency.
- Familiarity with retail systems and technology.
- Minimum 1-2 years of retail or customer service experience, preferably in a convenience store or similar fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role is strongly preferred.
- Experience handling cash, preparing shift reports, and maintaining inventory is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in retail management are beneficial.
