This position is crucial to the success of our retail stores. Retail Sales Associates engage with wholesale and retail customers to understand their needs and provide informative solutions regarding Sherwin-Williams products. Associates are dedicated to promptly addressing any customer concerns to maximize satisfaction, while staying informed about product features and upholding the visual standards of the store and its merchandise.

Associates are expected to deliver exceptional customer service while consistently achieving the store's sales goals.

Job duties include customer interaction, handling cash and payment methods, and managing store merchandise. Due to the nature of these responsibilities, a review of criminal history is required to ensure the safety of our customers and staff.

The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at Store , located at 9100 S. Stony Island, Chicago, IL 60617. This store is part of a group of stores, and the candidate may be required to cover hours at nearby locations: Evergreen Park Store 3068, Hyde Park Store 3392, and Ashburn Store 3860.

This role is part-time with a starting pay of $17.27 per hour.

  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction through exceptional sales service.
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone by identifying needs and recommending suitable products and services.
  • Build trust-based relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Accurately process sales transactions in compliance with policies.
  • Achieve sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Maintain accurate work order files and product formulas.
  • Retrieve items from the sales floor or warehouse as needed.
  • Tint and mix products to meet customer specifications.
  • Stock shelves and set up displays effectively.
  • Clean store equipment regularly.
  • Assist with loading/unloading delivery trucks as needed.
  • Ensure assigned areas are well-stocked and visually appealing.
  • Stay informed on products and communicate available options.
  • Follow inventory control procedures precisely.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance sales performance.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Must be authorized to work in the country without requiring sponsorship for a work visa.
  • Must hold a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Capability to lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
  • Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
  • Experience selling paint and paint-related products.
  • Familiarity with tinting and mixing equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language is a plus.
  • Spanish language proficiency is beneficial.
