Position Overview The Retail Operations Officer is responsible for ensuring that all assigned financial center locations and personnel comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This individual monitors various operational reports and conducts periodic audits to help maintain compliance and operational soundness. The Retail Operations Officer works with office management to identify resources to improve operations or implement changes. In addition, this individual recommends appropriate courses of action, act as a liaison between retail offices and other operational departments. Travel throughout assigned footprint and other locations is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Identify resources, offers suggestions and/or implements operational changes to improve efficiency and productivity as appropriate.
- Identifies training needs, recommends and aids in the development of specific training programs, facilitates training programs as necessary.
- Supports new product implementation and software or technology updates, develops procedures and operational training. Will also be responsible to follow up after implementation to address any issues or concerns resulting from the roll out.
- Develops and maintains operational guidelines and procedures for retail teams. Disseminates this information through the Company's intranet, through occasional team meetings, through direct communications or one-on-one coaching of retail staff.

- Provides guidance and support to the retail offices regarding operational and procedural questions.
- Spends time in retail offices to create an atmosphere in which upward communication from all levels of employees is encouraged and welcomed. Promotes teamwork and positive communication. Assists in developing and modeling customer service skills.
- Acts as a liaison between the retail offices, other operating departments, and Senior Management. Ensures active communication to key stakeholders and provides updates related to situations or concerns that could impact service, operations, or security.
- Works with department managers and retail personnel to identify universal issues and/or trends impact within the offices, suggests resolutions and recommends appropriate courses of action.
- Attends and presents updates to retail management at scheduled manager and assistant manager meetings.
- Attends/holds periodic meetings with the Compliance Department, Training Department, Retail Department, and related departmental managers to discuss and review operational needs and changes.
- Responds in a timely manner to all complaints/issues.
- Monitors reports such as cash drawer over and short, cash limits, overdrafts, check systems, large transactions, etc.
- Works with cash controls and monitors adherence to cash control policies, works with Finance to set appropriate limits. Performs cash audits.
- Ensures that all personnel adhere to established operating policies, procedures, and various regulatory requirements.
- Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment, which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety, soundness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements; ensures that all office personnel adhere to the same. Manages risk by completing all mandatory compliance and regulatory training assigned by the stated due date.
- Provides periodic reports to the Senior Operations Manager and other groups as required.
- Communicates with the Senior Operations Manager, Financial Center Managers, and appropriate staff personnel to integrate goals and activities.
- Performs tasks, which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
Education & Qualifications - A B.S. or B.A. degree in Business or a related field of study normally required; equivalent financial services experience may be used in lieu of degree; specialized banking education and training related to operation supported by knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance topics.
- A minimum of five (5) years' related experience normally required. A substantial portion of this experience should be in financial services retail office operations.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Skill(s) Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills; a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all products and services; a working knowledge of operating policies and procedures; moderate PC skills including various software applications and programs; demonstrated management and supervisory skills; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills; valid driver's license is required.
