Description
The Retail Operations Manager provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that Warrenton Oil Company has the proper operations controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the Retail Division while focusing on financial performance and operating efficiency. This position collaborates with all Warrenton Oil Divisions to reach our combined objectives. These essential functions are accomplished by a respectful, constructive, energetic, and inspiring management style. This position is a part of the WOCO Critical Response Team.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Train, coach, and discipline staff as needed. Adhere to all company policies / procedures, and ensure employees do the same. Ensure employees meet customer satisfaction and company profitability goals in a team-like fashion. Remain current with all company manuals and handbooks. Recruits, interviews, hires and ensures proper training of supervisory staff in the Retail Division. Ensure the management of day-to-day operations at each retail location. Directly supervises and mentors Retail Division Area Managers and Area Manager MIT's. Evaluate suppliers for accuracy of orders, timely shipping, and quality of products. Communicate to all involved parties. Provides timely and constructive performance evaluations for direct reports; ensures same for the division. Prepares and presents reports on the Retail Division performance and benchmarks. Assist in the design / layout of all retail stores. Gain an understanding of the Corporate Pricebook and how it effects operations. Project a positive image of the company at all times. Perform Bi-Monthly inspections to ensure the FastLane Brand Image is upheld. Attend trade shows and seminars to broaden knowledge and keep up with current trends / products. Ensure the Retail Management Team is maintaining correct retail prices. Examine market trends to determine trends and/or advances in retail merchandising.Ensure that all Fuel Brand Image Standards are met. Manage Zenput forms and reports. Lead efforts to reduce inventory shrinkage, product loss, and waste. Adhere to all federal, city, county, and state health, food, alchohol, and tobacco regulations. Act as a liaison with the Director Of Food Service and Merchandising for the proper operation of all retail food operations. Establishes, communicates, and implements operations related policies, standards, and security measures. Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly. Manage all current store supply vendors. Evaluate and determine proper store supply vendors as needed. Assist in the development and career growth of all retail employees. Conducts Area Manager meetings for the Area managers and attends all required meetings as directed by Sr. Director of Operations. Host and coordinate quarterly store manager meetings. Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve operations. Manage daily fuel prices to maintain maximum competitive strategy. Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the retail, restaurant, grocery, or other service industry. Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing in the retail environment. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent preferred.
