As a Retail Operations Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a pleasant shopping atmosphere for our customers. Your responsibilities will include merchandising and stocking products, operating the cash register, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the store. You'll work alongside the dedicated ALDI team to deliver exceptional customer service that enhances the shopping experience.
Position Type: Full-Time
Average Hours: 32-40 hours per week
Starting Wage: $17.50 per hour
Wage Increases: Year 2 - $18.00, Year 3 - $18.50, Year 4 - $18.50, Year 5 - $19.50
Duties and Responsibilities: - Embrace the ALDI Mindsets, Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as part of your role.
- Efficiently process customer purchases and maintain cleanliness within the store.
- Stock shelves and display merchandise appropriately.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and clearly communicate with management.
- Provide insightful feedback on products, inventory discrepancies, and general operational issues to management.
- Participate in inventory counts as per guidelines and monitor inventory for accuracy.
- Follow cash handling protocols to minimize losses.
- Adhere to all established company policies while maintaining document security and confidentiality.
- Complete any other duties assigned.
Physical Demands: - Ability to stock merchandise from receiving to shelving, lifting products up to 45 pounds to various heights.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the store.
- Must be able to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications: - Minimum age of 18 years required for this position.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist customers promptly and courteously.
- Proficient in operating a cash register accurately and efficiently.
- Capable of safely using equipment such as electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
- Able to perform general cleaning duties adhering to company standards.
- Ability to comprehend and apply company policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a productive and efficient manner.
- Compliance with state and local regulations for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.
Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a retail environment is advantageous.
- A blend of education and experience that provides similar knowledge is acceptable.
