ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and support team members in delivering efficient and friendly customer service throughout the store.
  • Address employee performance issues through coaching and progressive discipline as needed.
  • Collaborate with Store Manager and HR for effective solutions and actions regarding personnel management.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures by all staff.
  • Understand the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and its relation to monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements.
  • Participate in the AOP budgeting process, focusing on achieving sales, profit goals, and minimizing shrinkage.
  • Assist with the annual inventory process in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Train employees on necessary programs and operational standards.
  • Work with the Store Manager to ensure a well-maintained and safe environment for staff and customers.
  • Oversee the interview, hiring, orientation, and training processes for select employee groups.
  • Provide direction to staff regarding daily schedules, store objectives, sales goals, and shrinkage targets.
  • Plan and execute in-store demonstrations, emphasizing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Assist with product receiving, managing damaged or expired goods, and restocking efficiently.
  • Maintain merchandising programs, promotional signage, and adherence to marketing initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding merchandising and marketing execution.
ADDITIONAL OPERATING PROCEDURES INCLUDE:
  • Analyze monthly store reports to assess controllable expenses and overall performance.
  • Address any deviations from company standards with appropriate actions in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Ensure employee scheduling aligns with business objectives.
  • Educate staff on emergency procedures and protocols.
  • Accept additional assignments as directed by the Store Manager.
  • Support and enforce all policies and procedures established by the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as required.
SUPERVISION:
  • Direct supervision of Sales Associates and Sales Department Leads.
RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Internal: Interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • External: Engage with customers and service providers professionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The position is in a retail store open to the public. You may encounter various weather conditions and moderate noise levels. Work surfaces are typically level, but the use of ladders and elevated surfaces may occasionally be necessary. Temperature ranges from -10 to 85 degrees throughout the store, and interaction with customers is a key component of the role.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a retail environment is required.
  • At least two years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including availability during holidays and weekends.
  • Competency in computer use, including spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Prior experience with cash handling is necessary.

EDUCATION:
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience is required. A degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or Accounting/Finance is preferred.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be capable of performing various physical activities on a continuous basis, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs frequently, with maximum lifting of 100 lbs as needed.
