SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES The host/hostess is responsible welcoming guests into the restaurant and managing the efficient and time seating of parties to the appropriate area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Warmly greet all guests upon arrival.
- Keep guests updated on wait times, available seating, and their places in the queue.
- Answer incoming calls from guests, providing accurate information for restaurant related questions.
- Make guest reservations, or large party reservations, where applicable.
- Seat guests based on guest preference and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
- Accommodate special seating requests when possible.
- Provide guests with menus, ensure table is properly set, provide server's name, and the diligence of willingness to help.
- Communicate with servers, bussers, and bartenders as needed.
- Maintain clean and orderly storage and entry areas.
- Thank guests as they leave, invite them to return.
- Abide by company policies regarding food service.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - Must be 18 years of age of older
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English
- Bi-lingual a plus
- Legally able to work within State and Federal guidelines
- Sense of urgency and prioritization
- Must obtain a SNHD Food handlers card and Alcohol Awareness card
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to multi-task and remain positive in busy working conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS - Schedule flexibility including nights and weekends where necessary
