Job Summary:
Gurney's Montauk is excited to launch Gigi's Montauk, a New-American inspired dining concept rooted in fresh, seasonal fare and elevated seaside hospitality. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant General Manager to lead the opening and oversee daily operations of this signature venue. The ideal candidate brings proven leadership in high-volume, design-forward restaurant environments and thrives in creating memorable guest experiences through exceptional service, team development, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the successful opening and ongoing daily operations of Gigi's, ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience aligned with Gurney's brand standards.
• Partner with the Executive Chef to uphold culinary excellence and consistency across all meal periods.
• Hire, train, and manage front-of-house staff, fostering a culture of hospitality, accountability, and teamwork.
• Maintain strong visibility on the floor, engaging with guests and providing real-time coaching and support to staff.
• Analyze and manage restaurant P&L, including labor, inventory, and cost of goods, with a focus on efficiency and profitability.
• Collaborate on marketing efforts, special events, and seasonal promotions to drive revenue and guest engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations as well as internal resort policies.
• Uphold a premium atmosphere in both service delivery and overall ambiance, including music, lighting, and guest flow.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a luxury or high-profile restaurant environment; pre-opening experience strongly preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-first, hands-on leadership style.
• Proven ability to build, train, and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced, seasonal setting.
• Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing budgets, labor costs, and profitability.
• Proficiency in POS and reservation platforms (Micros and OpenTable preferred).
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak season.
• Deep knowledge of wine and spirits, with a passion for delivering curated beverage service.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, including walking throughout the property and between service areas.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that includes exposure to outdoor elements during peak season.
• Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands
Benefits and Compensation Package:
• Salary Range: $115,000-$125,000 per year
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time, year-round employees
