Job Title: Assistant Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Job Summary: The Assistant Manager at Shipley Do-Nuts plays a critical role in supporting the General Manager with daily store operations, ensuring outstanding customer service, maintaining high product quality, and managing team performance. This role requires a strong leader who is passionate about creating a positive work environment while driving operational excellence and profitability.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: - Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily store operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
- Monitor product quality, food safety, and cleanliness standards in accordance with Shipley Do-Nuts policies.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure product availability to meet customer demand.
- Open and close the store as needed, following proper security and operational procedures.
Team Leadership & Development: - Lead by example, fostering a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and developing team members to meet performance standards.
- Provide coaching and feedback to employees, addressing any performance issues promptly.
- Ensure staff compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Customer Service Excellence: - Deliver exceptional customer service by promoting a welcoming and friendly environment.
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns effectively.
- Encourage and empower team members to provide high-quality service at all times.
Sales & Profitability: - Support efforts to meet or exceed sales goals by promoting upselling and cross-selling.
- Monitor labor costs, food costs, and other expenses to maintain profitability.
- Analyze store performance and assist in implementing strategies to improve sales and reduce waste.
Compliance & Safety: - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Enforce adherence to Shipley Do-Nuts brand standards and operational policies.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, including cash handling, employee schedules, and inventory reports.
Qualifications: ️ High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
️ 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in the food service or hospitality industry.
️ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
️ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
️ Ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
️ Basic knowledge of inventory management and cost control principles.
️ Proficiency in basic computer skills and POS systems.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
