Job Summary
This job performs duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with the physicians' orders and department policy. Performs all procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist or Respiratory Therapy Technician. Job duties will be assigned based on student's clinical progression and competency validation.
Accountabilities
- Performs respiratory therapy procedures in accordance with the physician's order, departmental policy, and the Respiratory Care Guidelines (RT Consult). May not take verbal orders or modify orders. 50%
- Communicates well with supervisors, therapists and technicians. Provides a complete and accurate report. 10%
- May perform blood gasses from all sites. Analyzes and reports results accurately. 10%
- Accurately and completely documents and charges for respiratory care procedures and provides patient and family education as appropriate. 20%
- Adheres to infection control and quality initiatives. Performs appropriate cleaning/disinfection and sterilization of equipment between patients as indicated by equipment type and isolation status. 10%
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Currently enrolled in an approved school for respiratory care

All our clinical educators who serve in our programs have a love and a desire to teach. Our educators are integrated into all aspects of the Allied Health. Our programs include Pharmacy, Respiratory, Lab, Therapies, Radiology, Surg techs, and Mobile medicine (EMT).
