Position Overview:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and diagnose patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.
Administer respiratory therapies and medications as prescribed by physicians.
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as arterial blood gases (ABGs), pulmonary function tests (PFTs), and chest X-rays.
Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and home care plans.
Monitor and adjust respiratory equipment, including ventilators, nebulizers, and oxygen delivery systems.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
Document patient care, treatments, and progress accurately and timely.
Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care as needed.
Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure/Certification: Current Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT) in Pennsylvania, or eligibility. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred, but not required.
Skills: Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
