Under the direction of the Respiratory Therapy Manager, and the Respiratory Lead Therapist, the general supervision of the Charge Person and with the guidance of the Medical Director, the individual will be required to perform Respiratory Therapy Service modalities as ordered by physicians to all in-patients admitted to the Rehabilitation, Oncology, Epileptic Monitoring, Skilled Nursing, Surgical, and the Medical Units.

Responsibilities:
Performs prescribed Respiratory Care therapeutic procedures
Charts all therapy rendered per documentation policy.
Assesses patients for initiation and/or changes in patient care.
Initiates and discontinues therapy and/or associated equipment.
Performs prescribed Respiratory Care general diagnostic procedures
Follows established protocol.
Prepares equipment and patient for proper test results.
Familiarity with Pulmonary Function Testing equipment, including but not limited to;
PF Screening equipment
Comprehensive Pulmonary Function Testing equipment
Other advanced pulmonary diagnostic equipment and procedures
Humidifiers, O2 therapy related equipment, aerosols, and pulse oximetry.
Nebulizers, inhalers, and applicable medications.
Mechanical percussors, bedside pulmonary screeners, EKG's, and volume expansion therapy.
Emergency airway equipment.
Adult ventilation (noninvasive only).
ABG procurement.
Assists patients and staff
Instructs home care patients, inpatients, and outpatients on therapy.
Assists with community training/instruction programs.
Qualifications:
Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and enrolled in a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program with satisfactory completion of the first year as defined by the Respiratory Therapy Program Coordinator is required. Students may be asked to sign a waiver to release their grades upon request to ensure all classes have been completed with a "C" average.
License(s)/Certification(s): CPR required upon hiring.
