East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) is seeking a regular full-time
Resident Services Coordinator. Position Summary: The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) is responsible for supporting residents by providing individualized assistance, facilitating community engagement, and coordinating service partnerships. The RSC works to improve housing stability, economic well-being, and social cohesion while fostering a strong, supportive resident community. This role includes service and program coordination, and collaboration with Property Management and external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
REQUIREMENT: Mandarin or Cantonese (Speaking, reading, & writing).
Resident Support & Individual Assistance (60%) - Assess resident needs and make referrals to community resources such as benefits navigation, financial coaching, treatment providers, and housing retention support.
- Provide individualized support to residents, including assistance with housing stability and accessing public benefits, employment services, financial coaching, budgeting, and other services based on individual need.
- Identify and engage residents in supportive programs that promote skill-building and personal development.
- Address resident concerns such as mediation, crisis intervention, housekeeping issues, and housing re-certifications.
- Receive and manage referrals from Property Management and collaborate with tenant case managers when available.
- Implement conflict resolution techniques and de-escalation strategies for resident behavioral concerns, including mental health emergencies.
- Develop and maintain a referral network of service providers; make referrals and follow up on resident progress.
- Facilitate resident workshops, orientations, and presentations on available services.
- Ensure resident confidentiality and adhere to EBALDC's privacy policies.
Community Engagement & Leadership Development (15%) - Recruit and build relationships with residents through door-knocking, meetings, and other outreach methods.
- Organize and facilitate resident engagement activities to strengthen community connections.
- Gather and relay resident feedback to EBALDC leadership and service partners.
- Build relationships with community organizations and connect residents with local programs, events, and advocacy groups.
- Support the formation and development of resident associations, committees, and leadership councils.
- Provide leadership development training and mentorship for resident leaders.
Partnership & Property Management Coordination (15%) - Collaborate with Property Management on service provision, including resident referrals, safety concerns, and event planning.
- Conduct monthly meetings with Property Management to assess resident needs, review referrals, and discuss community concerns. Maintain documentation of meetings.
- Work closely with Property Management to assist residents at risk of eviction, offering case management and intervention strategies.
- Plan and coordinate property-wide resident meetings, community-building activities, and service-related events.
- Develop partnerships with local organizations to enhance resident services, education, and community-building opportunities.
Data Management & Reporting (10%) - Maintain up-to-date records of resident interactions and service referrals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress notes, and referrals while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- Ensure compliance with data tracking requirements and confidentiality standards.
- Prepare and submit required reports and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
- Assist in evaluating program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- In collaboration with Resident Services Manager, develop and implement annual logic model for assigned properties.
- Report incidents such as child, dependent adult, and elder abuse in accordance with state law.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Minimum 2+ years of experience in social services, housing support, or community-based programs.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related field preferred.
Skills & Competencies: - Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage conflicts and provide crisis intervention.
- Cultural competency and experience working with diverse, low-income communities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of Resident Services coordination best practices and trauma-informed care principles.
Technical Proficiency: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience using data management systems for tracking resident services.
- Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
Certifications & Compliance: - CPR & First Aid certification (provided by the organization if needed).
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Safe food handling certification (provided by EBALDC if needed, renewed annually).
Salary Range: $47,000-$49,000 annually
