Job/Practice Description: Family Medicine Residency Program Director - Monday-Friday 8 hour shifts
- Program development : Create the program, including setting goals and objectives. Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the Family Medicine Residency Program.
- Ensure compliance with ACGME and institutional accreditation standards and requirements.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that supports resident education and aligns with best practices in family medicine.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor faculty members, ensuring a high standard of education and mentorship.
- Oversee the resident selection process, ensuring adherence to National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) guidelines.
- Monitor resident performance, provide regular evaluations, and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
- Facilitate scholarly activity among faculty and residents, including research, quality improvement projects, and community engagement.
- Develop and oversee program policies and procedures, including duty hours, patient safety, and wellness initiatives.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with the Teaching Health Center administration, affiliated training sites, and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for residents, promoting professionalism, ethical practice, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
- Ensure financial and operational efficiency of the residency program, including budgeting and resource allocation.
Background Profile: Family Medicine Residency Program Director - Prior experience in residency education or medical education leadership is required
- Must be interested in working with and serving the medically underserved patient population
- CA License
- Candidate must be Board Certified
- DEA Certificate/License, CPR Card
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
