Research Project Manager (Contract)
Location: Hybrid - San Francisco/Bay Area
Schedule: On-site Tuesdays and Thursdays, with additional in-office presence as needed
Type: 6-Month Contract with the high possibility of extension
Equipment Provided: Laptop/computer
Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Clinical Research Project Manager to lead and coordinate multiple high-impact clinical and scientific research initiatives. This individual will play a key role in managing operations across trials and research studies while working closely with leadership teams and research staff. The ideal candidate will bring a strong clinical background, a foundation in research protocols, and excellent project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage 4 major clinical and research projects, including:
- Custom Discovery Project focused on immunotherapy
- COPA Syndrome Trials (2 studies; Clinical Research Coordinator and Principal Investigator support)
- Mergers & Acquisitions/Project Ethos
- Autoimmune Profiling Collaboration with Eli Lilly
- Coordinate Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and compliance
- Oversee Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) activities
- Collaborate on study budgets (preferred, not required)
- Manage and maintain research data systems (eg, REDCap)
- Interface with EMR systems for clinical documentation and monitoring
- Ensure safety and risk management protocols are followed
- Maintain effective collaboration with hospital infrastructure and administration
- Supervise a team of 5 direct reports and provide regular updates to leadership
- Manage timelines and execution across multiple complex research initiatives
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific or research-related field
- Clinical trial experience, including CRC and/or IRB coordination
- Familiarity with clinical databasing tools (eg, REDCap)
- Experience working within a hospital or clinical research setting
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Preferred:
- Master's degree or PhD in a life sciences or health-related field
- Background in scientific research methodologies
- Experience with study budgeting
- Familiarity with autoimmune or immunotherapy research
Work Environment:
- Based at the Parnassus campus
- On-site presence required Tuesdays and Thursdays, with flexible additional in-office days
- Computer and necessary equipment provided
- No car stipend included
Interview Process:
- Round 1: Interview with the hiring manager and current team member being backfilled
- Round 2: Interview with the same stakeholders plus additional team members
