Mirror Group is searching for full-time new and/or emerging Research and Evaluation Assistants at two levels: Research and Evaluation Assistant (entry-level) and Senior Research and Evaluation Assistant. Both roles will bring qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed methods skills, drive, and energy to support multiple MG research, evaluation, learning, and strategy contracts. The ideal candidates will combine technical skills with lived experience and a commitment to make data and information accessible to priority communities and learning organizations. These positions require reliability, flexibility, and a learning + action posture to be responsive to Mirror Group evolving project needs.

These are full-time positions that will collaborate regularly with Associates and Senior Consultants, and work with other MG collaborators as needed. The successful candidates will thrive both independently and with a team, and will have a flexible approach to challenges in a fast-paced, creative, remote, virtual team environment with opportunities for on-site engagement.

Research and Evaluation Assistant (Entry-Level Position):

Supports projects through data collection, analysis, and research activities

Assists with qualitative and quantitative data management

Participates in technical delivery of consulting tasks

Supports day-to-day activities of consulting teams

Helps develop and maintain client relationships

Senior Research and Evaluation Assistant:

Coordinates and executes research and evaluation projects

Leads data collection, cleaning, analysis, and management

Designs innovative evaluation frameworks and methodologies

Assists in managing client relationships and project teams

Contributes significantly to project deliverables

Both positions will also:

Support the analysis, use, research, and development of culturally responsive and equitable practice with clients

Identify innovative program evaluation approaches, data visualization techniques, and participatory and collaborative interactive designs

Conduct literature reviews and rapid desk research

Support projects and project teams including client and partner meeting, webinar, and workshop facilitation

Support contractual reporting requirements

COMPETENCIES

Direct work in designing, conducting, and reporting of research designs/evaluations

Exposure to quantitative analysis techniques using Excel/Google Sheets and/or statistical software programs (e.g. SPSS, STATA, SAS, R).

Strong organizational, multitasking, analytical, research, and attention-to-detail skills

Solid writing and document management skills

Workshop facilitation and presentation skills

Research and evaluation experience working on cross sector funded projects, and with foundations, nonprofits, community-based organizations, government and/or private partners

Trustworthy and reliable with proven ability to manage sensitive information

Creative, flexible and resourceful problem solver with an eye towards proactive systems-building for organizational growth

Highly organized with attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to high quality work products

Able to manage multiple deadlines and tasks simultaneously

Proactive communicator who is responsive to feedback, collaborative, and a team player

Ability to quickly learn and adapt to multiple information systems and technologies

Awareness of online software (Asana, BQE Core, etc.)

Committed to promoting liberation and the mission, vision, and values of Mirror Group, LLC

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of GSuite Gmail, GCal, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Jamboard.

Ability to empathize with those being served by organizational programming and projects

Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated, adhering to all required deadlines

Ability to take complete ownership of projects (start to finish)

COMPENSATION

These are full-time salaried positions. The salary range for these positions is $50,000 - $63,000. Benefits include 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid time off, health insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, wellness resources, and up to 4% of salary employer contribution to 401k retirement plan and student loan debt repayment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Research and Evaluation Assistant:

Bachelor's degree in a related field

1 year experience in research/evaluation data collection and analysis

Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data skills

Senior Research and Evaluation Assistant:

Master's degree in relevant field

2+ years experience in applied research/evaluation

Deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative methods

Strong technical data analysis and visualization skills

Both positions require:

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Interest in working with nonprofits and foundations

Experience supporting at least one evaluation from design to dissemination

Exposure to research and evaluation methods and study design

Intermediate skills in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and graphic design programs

Preferred qualifications for both roles include experience in applied research/evaluation outside academic contexts and proficiency in data analysis and visualization software.
