The Research Clinical Phase I Oncology Advanced Practice Nurse for the John Theurer Cancer Center at the Hope Tower/JSUMC performs the role utilizing the patient-centered coordinated care model demonstrated through the following competencies: leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision making. Works collaboratively with other members of the practice/hospital team to assess, plan and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.
Live and work near the best beaches at the Jersey Shore in a Phase I clinical trials program - the largest in New Jersey - JTCC offers needed options when standard therapies fail - particularly drugs in early development phase including first-in-human clinical trials. JSUMC's patients will now have access to JTCC's Phase I clinical trials in experimental drug discovery and therapeutics, including targeted therapies, immuno-oncology, and CAR-T trials.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing
- Masters Degree
- Maintains clinical competencies through participating in continuing educational programs (contact hours per years), and clinical practice as mandated by Board of Nursing and national certification body.
- Experience in relevant patient care setting or as regulations dictate
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Masters Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Emotional intelligence, critical thinking and effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities
- Valid Drivers license
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Certification (w/ Masters Degree).
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
