Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate, Biologic Conjugates Purification

JLSa2 is a recently launched seed-stage venture backed company located in South San Francisco focused on developing novel multifunctional protein-drug conjugate therapies to address human metabolic diseases and other non-oncology related diseases.

The company is seeking a Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate in the Purification Group to work on purification and analytical characterization of biologics and biologic conjugates to support progression of lead molecules from research stage through early clinical development.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will support purification of biologics and biologic conjugates ranging in scale from milligram to gram quantities and assist with formulation studies to address biologic conjugate solubility, aggregation, and recovery. The candidate will work collaboratively with the analytical and biologic assays teams to ensure data integration across functional areas to facilitate rapid decision making and efficient product iteration cycle time. This position is expected to be on site at our SSF facility.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in biochemistry, biophysics, analytical chemistry or related scientific field and minimum 1-2 years of industry experience.
• Preferred candidates will have experience with AKTA Pure or AKTA Pilot systems, preparing buffers, purifying antibody and antibody drug conjugates, and experience in typical analytical characterization assays such as RP-HPLC, SEC, CEX, HIC, and SDS-PAGE.
• Experience with or willingness to assist in mammalian cell culture workflows for protein expression is required.
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced start up environment is essential.
• Good communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite are essential

Salary Range: $75,000 - $115,000 (Compensation and level will be commensurate with experience and expertise and could fall outside of the stated range)
