Make your mark for patients UCB is seeking to hire a lab-based Research Associate I to support early research out of our Boston R&D Hub located in Cambridge MA. The successful candidate will be involved in the synthesis, purification, and characterization of peptides, contributing to our ongoing research and development projects. Please note: We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able tosponsor visas at any point for this role. This includes taking over sponsorship for an existing Visa. Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities: Perform solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and solution-phase peptide synthesis. Purify peptides using techniques such as HPLC, preparative chromatography, and lyophilization. Characterize peptides using mass spectrometry, NMR, and other analytical techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research and development projects. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines. Minimum Education/Experience/Skills Required: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. Hands-on experience with peptide synthesis and purification techniques is a plus. Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, mass spectrometry, and NMR. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Salary Range: $68,000 to $89,250 Internal applicants should be in their current job for at least 12 months, must meet performance standards and are not on formal corrective/disciplinary process (PIP), warning, final warning, or compliance warning letters within the last 12 months.
