Pay Range Information:Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
Job Description Summary:This is a highly specialized position and is critical for data collection and data processing. An Engineer with specialization in Biomedical Engineering and experience in human motion capture and analysis is required. Assistant will be responsible for data collection and processing, as well writing code for real-time data visualization for movement training, and production of biomechanical reports.
The main duties include planning and organization of data collection and conducting gait, running, and other functional movement biomechanical experiments and data processing. The assistant's main expertise should be in data processing, coding, testing instruments, and integrating relevant materials for manuscript preparation.
Responsibilities:Data collection and Biomedical Signal Processing:
- Prepare Instruments in Laboratory,
- Acquire quotes for laboratory supplies
- Data processing in MATLAB, C Motion, Visual 3D, and R
- Write and Prepare codes for data processing
- Provide assignments to other research students
Required Qualifications:- Must have applied knowledge of instruments common in motion capture/biomechanics Labs
- Experience in writing codes in various languages
- Strong analytical skills, human subject handling, experience of working with team of UG students
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversite
- BS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
