Responsibilities
- Support the setup, execution, and analysis of laboratory experiments as needed.
- Carry out advanced cell culture techniques, media preparation, cell passaging and counting, cryopreservation, and routine maintenance and monitoring of cell cultures to ensure optimal conditions; conduct relevant bioassays.
- Apply molecular biology methods such as cell and protein characterization, nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) and protein extraction and purification, western blotting, SDS-PAGE, and qPCR.
- Utilize or be familiar with techniques including flow cytometry (e.g., FlowJo, ImageJ), ELISA, bioanalytical and immunoassays; assist in data reading and analysis.
- Conduct background research and data gathering to support scientific investigations.
- Assist in experimental design, protocol optimization, data collection, and data entry.
- Maintain accurate documentation of research activities and communications.
- Follow all relevant safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA, GLP, GMP, and infection control protocols.
- Help with the cleaning, disinfecting, and general upkeep of lab spaces and equipment.
- Support inventory management, including receiving and inspecting lab materials and placing orders as needed.
- Ensure proper packaging and shipping of samples in accordance with protocol and regulatory standards.
- Keep regulatory documentation organized and current.
Qualifications
- 1-5 years of relevant experience in a biomedical, biotechnology, or research laboratory environment.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with culturing and expanding human embryonic stem cells.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and collaborative approach.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Comfortable adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced research setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications; experience in data management and analysis software is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific or engineering discipline required.
