Responsibilities

  • Support the setup, execution, and analysis of laboratory experiments as needed.
  • Carry out advanced cell culture techniques, media preparation, cell passaging and counting, cryopreservation, and routine maintenance and monitoring of cell cultures to ensure optimal conditions; conduct relevant bioassays.
  • Apply molecular biology methods such as cell and protein characterization, nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) and protein extraction and purification, western blotting, SDS-PAGE, and qPCR.
  • Utilize or be familiar with techniques including flow cytometry (e.g., FlowJo, ImageJ), ELISA, bioanalytical and immunoassays; assist in data reading and analysis.
  • Conduct background research and data gathering to support scientific investigations.
  • Assist in experimental design, protocol optimization, data collection, and data entry.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of research activities and communications.
  • Follow all relevant safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA, GLP, GMP, and infection control protocols.
  • Help with the cleaning, disinfecting, and general upkeep of lab spaces and equipment.
  • Support inventory management, including receiving and inspecting lab materials and placing orders as needed.
  • Ensure proper packaging and shipping of samples in accordance with protocol and regulatory standards.
  • Keep regulatory documentation organized and current.

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of relevant experience in a biomedical, biotechnology, or research laboratory environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with culturing and expanding human embryonic stem cells.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and collaborative approach.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Comfortable adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced research setting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications; experience in data management and analysis software is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific or engineering discipline required.
