Position Summary:

The Center for Women's health research is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to support investigators and staff on current and future studies. Working under the general supervision of a Research Study Coordinator, this position will primarily support a federally funded study which is recruiting women during pregnancy with the department of OB/GYN. Specifically, this position will be working for the MIDAS study- a study looking to determine the risk of current and future cardiovascular disease. Responsibilities will include remote patient recruitment and enrollment, in person study visits including assessments of blood pressure and pulse wave variability for mother and newborn, blood and specimen collection, remote participant follow-up assessments, data collection/entry, and electronic medical record data abstraction. The RA will assist the Study Coordinator in liaising with study participants, preparing for study meetings, and carrying out activities related to research with the Perinatal Research team. The RA will contribute to other departmental needs such patient recruitment for additional research studies, IRB submissions, and data analysis. Prior research experience including patient interaction, protocol adherence, and data entry will be prioritized. Data collection and attention to detail are extremely important, as are communication skills.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Prior research experience required.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Familiarity with research concepts (study design, study protocol, human subjects research, and data management). Phlebotomy and Spanish speakers preferred.
