Summary: The Research Administrator for the Institute for Applied Economics (IAE) will primarily support department administration and operations, playing a critical role in positioning IAE for long-term sustainable growth. The Research Administrator will be immersed in IAE's day-to-day activities to secure new research projects, plan and conduct analyses, develop written reports and other media, and disseminate findings to the wider Los Angeles region. The Research Administrator will assist in coordinating and supporting meetings with internal teams and external clients, client and account management, and performing other support functions for IAE.

Duties: - Assist in collecting and compiling supporting materials for proposal development.
- Schedule meetings and coordinate with external clients as well as internal LAEDC teams.
- Manage the accounts and subscriptions of multiple online software tools and research products.
- Develop IAE templates for research reports, presentations, and other forms of communication.
- Prepare and submit invoices to clients, and follow up with clients on accounts receivables.
- Staff and assist in managing logistics for quarterly webinars, including the development of PowerPoint presentations.
- Document department activities and prepare IAE submissions for internal quarterly and annual reports, LAEDC newslettters, and research report release announcements.
- Collect, curate, and develop PR-related content, copy, metrics, and images for use on the website and social media, in partnership with the Strategic Engagement team.
- Responsible for additional duties and departmental tasks as assigned.
- Ensure all activities duties support the LAEDC's mission, goals, and objectives.

- Education/Experience: Associate degree from a community college or bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; or four years related experience and/or training in economics; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams/Zoom, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment: This position will operate in a hybrid schedule. The employee will base work from the DTLA office 40% of the work week and additional time as needed with the option to work remotely on the remaining time. Employees are required to reside in the Los Angeles County Region. The organization will continue to assess the hybrid environment and adjust to meet programmatic needs accordingly.
