Job Title: Lab Engineer III

Location: Onsite, Sunnyvale, CA

Pay Range: $72/hr. - $75/hr.

Our client, a leading technology company, is seeking Lab Engineer III to join their team.

As a Lab Engineer III, you will be part of the Reliability Engineering Department supporting cross-functional testing and quality teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, which will align successfully within the organization.

Top 3 Required Skills:

  1. Proficiency with Lab Testing Equipment: Hands-on experience operating environmental chambers (for heat soak and temperature cycling), controlled drop towers, high-speed video cameras (Photron/Phantom), digital microscopes (Keyence), Universal Testing Machines (Instron), and UV Chambers (Atlas Material Testing).
  2. Advanced Testing Methods Knowledge: Deep understanding and application of sophisticated testing methods like Digital Image Correlation (DIC), accelerometer data collection, and strain gauge application.
  3. Test Fixture Design and SOP Development: Ability to design, develop, and implement test fixtures, set up experiments, and create detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing and equipment operation.
What's the Job?

• Design, develop, and implement test fixtures and setups to support reliability (REL) tests.

• Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing and equipment operation.

• Troubleshoot equipment issues and execute high-impact, high-priority REL Test requests.

• Operate test equipment including environmental chambers, universal testing machines, and digital microscopes.

• Train new personnel on equipment operation and assist in applying sensors and strain gauges to test specimens for accurate data collection.

What's Needed?

• 4-5+ years of experience in a reliability lab or test environment.

• Proficiency operating environmental chambers, controlled drop towers, high-speed video cameras (Photron/Phantom), and digital microscopes (Keyence).

• Experience with Universal Testing Machines (Instron) and UV Chambers (Atlas Material Testing).

• Deep understanding of Digital Image Correlation (DIC), accelerometers, and strain gauge testing methods.

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
