Remote Contract Opportunity

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Release Train Engineer (RTE) position. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity and can be remote in the United States (EST working hours). This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.

Position Overview

The Release Train Engineer will provide servant leadership and coaching to a program level Agile Release Train (ART) containing multiple cross-functional agile teams through the effective application of Agile principles, including Program Increment (PI) planning and Scrum of Scrums; Ensure all teams within the ART are positioned to deliver value to the Company, maintaining transparency into program delivery predictability and forecasting and keeping all stakeholders and team members informed of the ART's progress; Support the ART teams by removing impediments, maintaining a focus on the delivery of value and ensuring the program backlog is clearly defined and prioritized.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Organize and facilitate program-level communication and ceremonies, including PI planning events, Scrum of Scrums, ART Synchs, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with Senior Product Owners to align on feature value, intake work, prioritize the program backlog, and distribute tasks to teams within the ART.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of the ART's progress through program-level reporting, tools, and dashboards.
  • Ensure successful delivery of value by enabling transparency, predictability, forecasting, and coordinating release planning activities.
  • Manage risks, facilitate alignment, provide transparency, identify dependencies, and remove impediments within the ART.
  • Lead and coach 4-10 Scrum Masters within the ART.
  • Influence senior leadership and coach ART teams on Agile practices and principles.
  • Collaborate with other RTEs across the organization to optimize execution based on key metrics and performance indicators.
  • Participate in and grow Agile Communities of Practice to foster continuous improvement.
  • Manage direct reports, including staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, and performance management.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
What You'll Need to Have:
  • Experience using Agile in a business environment.
  • Advanced skills in Jira, Target Process, Reporting, and Capacity Planning.
  • Proven experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) or Agile Program Manager.
  • Strong understanding and application of Agile principles, including SAFe methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Strong risk management, dependency identification, and impediment removal skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills to influence senior leaders and coach team members.
  • Experience managing Scrum Masters and providing Agile coaching at the program level.
  • Knowledge of tools and metrics for program-level reporting and forecasting.

Pay Range: $73-$88/hr +
