JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for enhancing patient care by assisting the Radiology Physicians in the performance of various procedures, usually under image guidance, in the diagnostic imaging environment. Scope of work is ultimately defined by the supervising Radiologist and facility in which assigned. This is a full-time onsite position with a pay range of $90,000 to $120,000 annually along with comprehensive benefits and PTO package.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensures the patient and their needs is the primary focus of their actions, while developing and sustaining productive patient relationships.

2. Actively seeks and verifies patient history as required by ACR.

3. Understands patient information and circumstances, problems, expectations and needs, while building a rapport and cooperative relationship with patient.

4. Properly prepares patients for procedures, while ensuring correct set up of support devices and proper safety protocols.

5. Performs selected radiology exams and procedures under the supervision of a radiologist.

6. Operates computerized and diagnostic imaging equipment.

7. Mentorship of X-Ray students

8. Evaluates image quality and makes initial image observations.

9. Maintains the confidentiality of all patient records and information to ensure that patients' rights are protected at all times.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Completion of an educational RPA program recognized by the Board of Directors of the Certification Board of Radiology Practitioner Assistants with current certification as an RPA by the CBRPA or considered eligible for the CBRPA RPA certification exam, or

Completion of an education RPA/RRA program recognized by AART with current certification as an RRA by the ARRT or considered eligible for the ARRT RRA certification exam.

Licensed with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) and credentialed to provide primary radiology heath care with physician supervision.

Minimum of two years' prior experience as a Radiology Technologist required.

Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) skills required.

Validation of participation in continuing education activities with a minimum of 24 CE credits biennially.

Previous experience working in a HIPAA regulated facility required.

Trained in barium studies, joint injections/aspiration/arthrogram, HSG, Urography and Urethrocystography required.
