An established full-service land surveying, mapping, and consulting firm is seeking a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to join their Houston office. This firm services a diverse portfolio of clients across commercial, healthcare, industrial, hospitality, education, municipal, transportation, and residential sectors. With offices in multiple major Texas cities, the company offers comprehensive surveying services including residential, commercial, construction, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and more-delivered with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.


The RPLS will be responsible for end-to-end project management and quality assurance for boundary determination, legal descriptions, and overall survey production. This includes ensuring compliance with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors regulations, managing communications with clients and internal teams, and delivering finalized survey data that meets all required specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage survey projects from initiation through delivery, including scoping, estimating, and quality assurance.
  • Communicate directly with clients to provide updates, resolve issues, and meet delivery expectations.
  • Coordinate closely with survey field crews, technicians, and drafting staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead project meetings and monitor progress using industry-standard PM tools.
  • Conduct detailed review of surveys and legal descriptions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of project activities, revisions, and billing records.
  • Deliver survey data and ASCII files and manage associated revision history and client requests.
  • Uphold company policies and industry best practices while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license in Texas.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD (Civil 3D), Carlson, Trimble Business Center, and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a client-first attitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team.
